Mark Walker had an extraordinary 8-night trip to Fiji!

It was incredible, and offered a great variety of options. We stayed at 4 different resorts, on 3 different islands. The people of Fiji are the nicest ever. Here is a quick summary of each:

Nadi, FijiInterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa
We stayed our first 3 nights at the Intercontinental on the main island of Nadi. We took the direct flight from LAX on Fiji Airways, and it was about an 11-hour flight. It was then about a 45-minute transfer to the Intercontinental. We stayed in the Club Intercontinental area of the resort. The room product at this resort is BEAUTIFUL. Each room is very large and has its own Bose entertainment system, large outdoor tub and sofa bed on the balcony. It is a very new, modern hotel (5-years old) and the food is great. It is pretty large, and you will walk a lot to get around, but a very nice product.

Castaway Island, Fiji – Castaway Island Resort
We then took a 45-minute boat ride from Port Denarau to Castaway Island where we spent the next two nights. This charming little resort on its own private island is the oldest of all the resorts in the Fijian Islands (almost 50-years old!). They have done a great job of maintaining the property, and the room product was not anything amazing, but simple and clean and fun. We had our own little private bungalow on the beach. The food was delicious at Castaway, and it was a good size (around 60 bungalows total). Very family-friendly, with a kids-pool, etc.

Malolo Island, Fiji – Malolo Island Resort
We then took a 10-minute boat ride to a nearby island called Malolo Island, where we spent one night at the Malolo Island Resort. This resort was also very family-friendly, with lots of kids. They have a great kids club here so you are able to drop your kids off pretty much all day if you want. In total, there are around 50 villas/cottages along the beach. In our opinion, the food at Malolo wasn’t as good as the other two resorts (at least the one meal we got), but overall, it was a nice little resort.

Malolo Island, FijiLikuliku Lagoon Resort Fiji
The last resort we stayed at was LikuLiku. It is located on Malolo Island as well, just around the island from Malolo Island Resort. This resort is adults-only, and all the meals are included for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are about 40 bungalows, 10 of which are over-water bungalows, the only ones in Fiji. This was the nicest resort I have probably ever stayed at before. It was absolutely beautiful, and the food was the best I have ever eaten. The service was amazing, and everybody knows your name. It is very romantic, quiet, and the water is extremely still and green. Great snorkeling right at the resort. One of the best places I have ever stayed.
